Albany Power Summer 2024 Tryouts
Dear Parents,
Albany Power is happy to announce tryouts for the 2024 Summer Program. The 2024 Power program will operate under a hybrid club model... promoting full year programs for competitive athletes that also maintains respect for the sanctity of scholastic sports.
We believe that this model will provide the right amount of practice, competition, and rest to allow players and programs in Section II to grow while also maintaining strong relationships with school sports, promoting life-long friendships and player skill that can be showcased at the highest level of high school and college lacrosse.
For over 15 years, Albany Power has provided players in The Capital Region with this highest level of instruction and support, and we are excited for the opportunity to work with your athlete this year!

2024 Summer Tryout- Girls 2025-2031, Boys 2025-2033

Summer 2024 Tryout Dates:
July 26, July 27, July 28
Girls Tryout: 2025-2027: 4:00PM-6:00PM
Girls Tryout: 2028-2031: 6:00PM-8:00PM

Afrim's Sports Park: 969 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Colonie, NY 12205
*We encourage players to attend all tryouts, providing our coaching staff of NYS Certified teachers and coaches, along with former standout players from all across college lacrosse, the best opportunity to evaluate your child.
In the event that you cannot attend either tryout, please use the registration form to let us know that you will not be in attendance.
*Tryout cost is $80, payable by check or cash on 7/26. We cannot prorate the tryout fee for players attending fewer practices.
The cost of the summer program will be tiered for players.
Girls Program Cost:
2025-2028- $1,800 with winter included. *Price includes IWCLA/Sportsrecruits account.
2029-2030- $1,400 with winter included
2031- $990 with winter included
**2031 is the youngest girls division
*There will be an additional cost for eligible 2028 and 2029 boys players who participate in the World Series Qualifier in March.
2023 Fall and Winter Sessions
Fall and Winter Sessions this year will be open only to players rostered on Albany Power Summer 2024 Teams and 2024 graduating seniors.
Fall 2023- Sunday evening practices at Schenectady High School throughout September and October. The program cost is $295.
These sessions have been specifically scheduled to avoid scholastic sports. Players will participate in a combination of practice and training model experiences that will optimize player skill through repetition and specific skills training. We do not usually travel to tournaments with our boys programs in the fall out of respect for the high school programs. Our Power Girls Program will sometimes schedule a fall tournament individually once fall registration is established and teams are made.
Winter 2023/2024- Sunday morning practices at Afrim's Dome in Latham. These sessions will look similar to our regular winter session with the addition of opportunities for box lacrosse and individual, small group, instruction throughout the winter. Registration will open for this program in October when team announcements are made.
IMCLA/IWCLA Recruits
This year, as part of your summer program, every HS age player (2028-2025) will have access to the IMCLA Sports Recruits Platform. This program will allow families to effectively collect and showcase all of the best parts of each player's game, and it will allow Power to more effectively share information about your athlete with potential colleges.
We'll be rolling this platform out to players in September.
